Please carefully read the following Terms and Conditions ("Terms", "Terms and Conditions") relating to the www.i-c-i-e.org website (ICIE) and the www.i-c-i-e.org community forum ("Membership Services") provided by Netizen Consulting Ltd. for the International Center for Information Ethics (ICIE).

 

Your access to and use of the ICIE community membership services is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, members and others who access or use the community membership services.

 

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not access the Service.

 

 

Subscriptions

 

Membership Subscription is free of charge and is binding only so far as or until cancellation by the member or by ICIE administration. Membership subscription may be cancelled at any time, without notice, by either party (“party” being the member or ICIE administration). Membership may be suspended or cancelled by the ICIE administration without notice due to the following reasons:

 

  • Abuse of community standards and expectations, including, but not limited to, slander, malicious behavior, and ad hominem attacks against other members.

  • Misuse of ICIE resources, including but not limited to, copyright infractions, conflict of interest, and vandalism (including “trolling”) of ICIE community discussions.

Content

 

ICIE membership Service allows you to post, link, store, share and otherwise make available certain information, text, graphics, videos, or other material ("Content"). Members are responsible for the quality of all posted content, including relevance and legal terms pertaining to posted materials. 

 

ICIE posted content is open access once posted and is made available to members free of charge. All posted comments, and information posted to ICIE becomes the property of ICIE, and remains posted at the discretion of the ICIE administration.

 

ICIE and its administrators will not be held liable for materials and/or content posted to the community forum by its members and reserves the right to remove any materials it deems inappropriate or harmful to the community. 

 

 

Links to Other Web Sites

 

ICIE Membership Services and the ICIE community Forum allows the posting and sharing of links (including linked or non-linked references) to third-party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by Netizen Consulting Ltd. or the International Center for Information Ethics on the condition that:

 

  • Links / sharing are legally provisioned and relevant, where ‘relevant’ indicates useful, applicable and related materials that support or advance the ICIE mission, goals and specific topic 

  • The posting of links to other websites does not constitute a conflict of interest with between ICIE and any external agency in relation to ICIE and its members.

  • Links do not include ‘spam’ (unsolicited materials), personal promotions for monetary gain, or promotion of personal websites, blogs, and other materials unless they are directly related to the topic at hand.

 

Netizen Consulting Ltd. and the International Center for Information Ethics has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party web sites or services. Members further acknowledge and agree that Netizen Consulting Ltd. and the International Center for Information Ethics shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such web sites or services.

 

Changes

 

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is sensitive or otherwise relevant material we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a sensitive or relevant material change will be determined at the sole discretion of the ICIE administration.
